Electrical contractors in British Columbia
Electrical work in British Columbia is regulated more tightly than most Canadian provinces, through two bodies with different jobs. Technical Safety BC is the safety regulator: it issues the electrical contractor licence that a business must hold to perform electrical work for others, it classifies the Field Safety Representative (FSR) who must be designated by every licensed contractor, and it issues the electrical permits under which work is carried out and inspected.
