505 Summit
A construction project located in Jersey City.
A Bit About 505 Summit
505 Summit topped out the Journal Square skyline and then finished the job. The 54-story rental tower in Jersey City, designed by HLW International for Panepinto Properties, wrapped construction in March 2026. At 577 feet it is among the tallest residential buildings in a neighborhood that has reinvented itself around the PATH station over the past decade.
Project Scope
The $388 million project delivers 605 rental apartments across studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom layouts, plus about 3,200 square feet of ground-floor retail and a landscaped public plaza. The tower was approved in early 2022, secured $193 million in financing in 2023, and went vertical that September. Its completion adds meaningful rental supply to one of the densest transit-served submarkets in the New York metro.
Journal Square has become a proving ground for tall residential delivery, and 505 Summit sits in a cohort of record-setting towers across North America, including Toronto’s Pinnacle SkyTower.
Why It Matters
Transit-oriented towers like this one are the housing-supply argument in physical form: build dense, build next to a train, and let people skip the car. Jersey City has leaned into that bet harder than almost any U.S. city, and 505 Summit is another data point on whether the model can keep pace with demand. The retail and plaza at its base matter too. A 54-story tower that meets the sidewalk well does more for a neighborhood than one that just stacks units. This one finished on the right side of that line.
