Jupiter Medical Center has started construction on a neighborhood hospital and medical office building in the Avenir development in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The 53,370-square-foot hospital and a 47,000-square-foot outpatient building are due to finish in 2028.
Project Scope
The neighborhood hospital format is a small-footprint acute facility: an emergency department, a modest set of inpatient beds, imaging, and lab, sized for a growing suburb rather than a regional referral center. The attached medical office building rounds out outpatient services on the same site. Black Diamond Construction is the general contractor.
Why It Matters
Avenir is one of the largest master-planned communities in northern Palm Beach County, and rooftops are arriving faster than nearby healthcare. Micro-hospitals let a system plant an emergency department and core services where demand is heading without committing to a full campus up front. For Jupiter Medical Center, an independent nonprofit, it’s a way to extend its service area and keep patients local instead of driving south. Expect more of these small-format hospitals across Florida’s fast-growing suburbs.
