Utah County’s fastest-growing corridor is finally getting a freeway-grade east-west link. UDOT broke ground in March 2026 on the 2100 North connection in Lehi, a 2.8-mile freeway that ties Interstate 15 to the Mountain View Corridor and gives commuters an alternative to the choked surface arterials feeding the tech offices around Thanksgiving Point.
Project Scope
The $621 million job builds a new grade-separated freeway across 2.8 miles, including 14 vehicle bridges and two pedestrian bridges. Crews will add nearly two miles of shared-use paths and rebuild or realign about two miles of existing trails so cyclists and pedestrians aren’t cut off by the new alignment. Work runs through late 2028.
Why It Matters
Lehi sits at the center of the “Silicon Slopes” job boom, and the surface grid never kept up. A freeway-to-freeway connection takes regional trips off local streets, which is the difference between a 10-minute cross-town run and a 25-minute one at peak. It’s also a template UDOT is watching: build the multimodal paths into the freeway from day one rather than retrofitting them later.
