The Giants announced on July 27, 2026 that they’re expanding the Quest Diagnostics Training Center in East Rutherford, adding about 93,500 square feet of new construction and renovating another 46,000. EwingCole is designing it and Natoli Construction Corp. is building it under a design-build arrangement. The team wants the work finished before the 2028 NFL season, and football and business operations stay in the building throughout.
Project Scope
The program is built around player performance, preparation and recovery, which in practice means the spaces where players spend their day get substantially larger. The new locker room runs more than 6,000 square feet with 100 full-size lockers. The weight room exceeds 11,000 square feet. Meeting, treatment and recovery areas expand alongside them. The renovation portion touches the existing headquarters functions that stay in place. Cost has not been disclosed. Sequencing is the constraint that shapes the whole job: an NFL club runs a year-round operation with a hard seasonal calendar, so demolition, steel and fit-out all have to be planned around training camp, the season and the offseason program, with no meaningful shutdown window.
Why It Matters
NFL facility spending has quietly moved from stadiums to training centers over the past five years. Stadiums are revenue assets and generally involve public money; training centers are privately funded and get judged on recruiting and retention. A 6,000-square-foot locker room and an 11,000-square-foot weight room are competitive instruments in a league where free agents tour facilities. For contractors in northern New Jersey, this is a mid-size occupied-building job with an immovable completion date, which tends to favor design-build teams that have already worked together. EwingCole has a long sports and healthcare portfolio; Natoli is a regional builder that knows the site.
