The completion date on this one isn’t a target, it’s a fixture list. The Jacksonville Jaguars play their 2027 home season in Orlando while EverBank Stadium is rebuilt, so Camping World Stadium has to be ready in August 2027. Heavy equipment mobilized February 11, 2026, starting with demolition of the main staircase.
Project Scope
$400 million total: $338.5 million of construction plus $61.5 million of design and permitting, funded entirely by Orange County Tourist Development Tax. The work rebuilds the upper bowl, reconstructs the north end zone seating with a new tower, adds suites and premium hospitality, expands the concourses, and adds an events-centre component inside the complex. Capacity rises about 2,000 seats to more than 65,000. DLR Group is architect, with a Barton Malow and AECOM Hunt joint venture holding the construction contract executed by Orlando City Council in February 2025.
DLR Group’s design wraps the existing concrete structure in a metallic brise-soleil. Lead architect Ryan Freeland cites moving water and palm fronds; functionally it cuts solar gain, channels prevailing winds for passive comfort, and glows at night from colour-changing LEDs that can be reprogrammed per team or event.
Why It Matters
The stadium opened in 1936 and was last reconstructed in 2014. When this finishes, no part of the venue will be more than nine years old, which is a strange thing to say about a 91-year-old building and is exactly the point. The concrete bowl is the only continuous element.
The operational constraint is the real story for contractors. The stadium stays open for events throughout, so the schedule is built around an event calendar rather than the other way round. The city puts the job at roughly 1,500 construction jobs over its duration with about 400 workers on site at peak, and every one of those peaks has to fall between bookings.
