Valley Crawlspace Repair was formed in October 2020 and is run by Dylan Hovey, who works on site with the crew rather than only selling the work. He is credited as the reviewer of the technical content on the company’s own site.

A large share of the business comes from property transactions. Realtors call when a home inspection has flagged moisture, mould or a sagging floor and a sale is at risk, and the company states it works to those closing deadlines. Its argument to sellers is to deal with a damp crawl space before listing rather than after a lender or inspector finds it.

The warranty structure is worth reading carefully. Encapsulation carries a lifetime warranty, but only where Valley Crawlspace performed the installation. Most other services also carry lifetime terms, while sump pumps and dehumidifiers fall under a five-year manufacturer warranty instead.

On equipment, the preferred products are Aprilaire dehumidifiers and GuardianLiner vapor barriers, but the company states no restriction on which brands it will install or replace, which matters if there is existing equipment under the house you would rather match than swap.

The company draws a clear line between waterproofing, meaning drainage and sump pumps for water getting in, and encapsulation, meaning sealing against ground moisture and humid air, and recommends combining both where a house has intrusion and humidity together.

Hours run Monday to Saturday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, closed Sunday. Five percent discounts are offered to military and to veterans, valid on completed installations and to be raised at quote stage. Coverage runs across north Alabama from Meridianville and Huntsville out to Florence, Cullman and Scottsboro, and north into Tennessee as far as Chattanooga and Columbia.
