Todd Terbrock founded Missouri Basement and still runs it. He trained as a carpenter, comes from a line of residential contractors in the St. Louis area, and spent a significant stretch in foundation construction before moving to the repair side, which is a different starting point than most companies in this trade.

That background shapes an unusual policy: the company does not employ salespeople and says it never will. The stated reasoning is that someone who has not been in the trenches on a range of failures cannot judge which fix a house actually needs. It is a direct swipe at the pressure-and-fear sales model the owner describes as common in basement work, where homeowners are poorly informed and easy to push.

The company is not a franchise. Work covers brick, block and poured concrete foundations, along with basement waterproofing and egress window installation, across Saint Charles and greater St. Louis.

On process, the company says it presents several approaches to a given problem and works through the pros and cons of each rather than steering toward one procedure. It also limits how many jobs run at once, which is how it keeps stated timeframes realistic. Estimates are free.
