Tour Triangle
A construction project located in Paris.

A Bit About Tour Triangle
Paris banned towers above 37 metres after Tour Montparnasse went up in 1973. Tour Triangle is the building that broke the ban. The 180-metre, 42-storey tower at Porte de Versailles topped out on April 24, 2026, roughly 20 years after the concept was first floated and after a rejected council vote, litigation, and a collapsed financing structure nearly killed it.
Project Scope
Total floor area is about 91,000 square metres. The program splits into roughly 70,000 square metres of office space for about 5,000 workers, a 128-room Radisson Blu hotel, 15,000 square metres of publicly accessible services, ground-level retail, and a panoramic restaurant. Budget runs around 670 million euros, roughly 730 million dollars.
Herzog and de Meuron designed the tower with Valode et Pistre, and BESIX holds the main construction contract. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield developed it in partnership with AXA, the deal struck in 2021 that finally unlocked construction. Opening is set for the second half of 2026.
Why It Matters
The triangular prism shape is not a stylistic choice. It came out of shadow studies: the taper is what keeps the tower from overshadowing the residential blocks around Porte de Versailles, and it is the geometry that got the project through the political fight. The 15,000 square metres of public-facing program came from the same negotiation, since the city conditioned approval on the tower not being a private monolith.
At 180 metres it is now the third-tallest structure inside the Paris city limits, behind the Eiffel Tower and Tour Montparnasse. For anyone tracking European high-rise construction, the more useful data point is the timeline: two decades from concept to topping out, in a city with a functioning permitting system and a motivated developer. Political risk on a tall building in a dense historic core is not a schedule contingency you can price.
