Xylem is a water technology company headquartered in Washington, D.C. that supplies the dewatering, sewer bypass and flood control equipment used on heavy civil and site work, alongside municipal treatment systems and smart metering. The company reported $9 billion in revenue in 2025. In August 2026 Xylem agreed to acquire the Cornell Pump and Roper Pump businesses from Indicor for $1.46 billion in cash, a deal expected to close in the fourth quarter that brings construction dewatering, mining and positive-displacement equipment into its Water Infrastructure segment. The two businesses are projected to generate more than $260 million in 2026 revenue at EBITDA margins above 30 percent.

Water moves through nearly everything Xylem sells. The company moved its global headquarters to Washington, D.C., putting corporate operations in a city better known for policy than for pump manufacturing. Xylem trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker XYL. Company figures put revenue at $8.6 billion and reach at 150 countries.
