Vulcan Materials Company

Vulcan Materials Company is the largest producer of construction aggregates in the United States, headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, and traded on the NYSE under VMC. Formed in 1957 through the combination of Vulcan Detinning and Birmingham Slag, the company supplies crushed stone, sand and gravel to highway, commercial, institutional and residential projects, and also produces asphalt mix and ready-mixed concrete in selected markets. Its footprint is concentrated in high-growth states across the Southeast, Texas, California and the Mid-Atlantic. In the second quarter of 2026 Vulcan reported revenues of $2.156 billion, aggregates shipments of 59.9 million tons and a record $12.02 per ton in aggregates cash gross profit, while freight-adjusted selling price reached $22.97 per ton.
