Three plants, not one. NAKS manufactures out of two locations in the Cleveland area and one in the Atlanta area, and its site navigation lists locations in Elyria, Ohio; Dallas, Georgia; and Venus, Texas. Everything has been made in the United States since the company started in 1987.

Lead times are published rather than quoted case by case: 5 to 7 business days on hoods, 1 to 2 business days on fans, and 2 to 3 weeks on custom fabrication of one to three pieces. For a restaurant fit-out working backwards from an opening date, those are the numbers that decide whether ventilation drives the schedule or follows it.

The listing stack behind the product is deep. Exhaust hood systems are built from heavy-gauge steel to NSF and NFPA 96 standards, are ETL Listed, and comply with UL710 hood standards, and NAKS states its equipment is guaranteed to pass state and local codes. The company also holds UL, cUL, cETL, EPH and NYC MEA acceptance, and is a BBB Accredited Business in Elyria. New York City acceptance in particular is worth noting, since MEA is a separate hurdle from national listings.

Rather than quoting a single standard package, the company positions itself as a full-line manufacturer that value-engineers the system selection across makeup air hoods, Type 1 exhaust hoods, concession and ventless hoods, Type 2 hoods, fire suppression, exhaust and supply fans, and no-weld ductwork.

Two support details are practical. NAKS runs a public lookup tool for hood installers and fire suppression companies, so a buyer ordering factory-direct is not left to find local installation on their own. And customer financing is available through a linked credit program. Customer care is staffed Monday to Friday 8:00am to 6:00pm Eastern plus Saturday 9:00am to 2:00pm, with separate text lines for sales and support.
