General Insulation Company

General Insulation Company is a distributor of mechanical, commercial and industrial insulation with its corporate office in Medford, Massachusetts. The company’s history page says Frank Granara bought the business in 1982, when it had a single location, and that it has since grown to a network of more than 45 branches across the United States, helped by the 2008 purchase of Clark Insulation. Product lines include fiberglass, mineral wool, elastomeric rubber, calcium silicate, aerogel, PVC and metal jacketing, tapes, mastics and adhesives, plus HVAC, firestop and acoustical materials sold to insulation contractors. The firm also runs a training program it calls GIC Academy. It was named in today’s coverage as an insulation distributor.
