EquipmentShare

EquipmentShare is a construction equipment rental and technology company founded in 2015 and headquartered in Columbia, Missouri. It rents earthmoving, lifting, power and specialty fleet through a nationwide branch network, sells and services equipment, supplies building materials, and operates a telematics and fleet management platform used by contractors to track utilization across owned and rented machines. The company reported second quarter 2026 revenue of $1.5 billion, up 26 percent year over year, with rental and services revenue up 39 percent, and opened 23 operational branches during the quarter. Full-year consolidated revenue guidance is $5.2 billion to $5.7 billion.

The branch count is the number that anchors everything else: 407 branches across 45 states, which the company describes as true nationwide coverage with boots-on-the-ground service. Its T3 platform captures 6.4 billion data points a day across connected equipment and jobsites, used to cut downtime and track asset utilisation.

The founding sequence is documented on the company’s own timeline. Jabbok and Willy Schlacks founded the business, were accepted into the Y Combinator startup seed programme, released an equipment tracker and keypad, and dropped off their first rental to a customer. Later milestones include opening the company’s first distribution centre, launching fully connected Site Solutions for large jobsites, and opening the Uptime Center, a 24/7 team monitoring T3-connected equipment and jobsites.

Rental categories are broad and specified by class rather than brand. Earthmoving runs from ride-on mini skid steers at 800 to 1,100 pounds through mini excavators in three weight bands up to 20,000 pounds and track excavators at 25,000 to 35,000 pounds. Aerial work platforms cover electric scissor lifts from 19-foot micro and narrow units to 32-foot narrow, plus articulating boom lifts at 30 to 35 feet and 40 to 45 feet. Forklift and material handling spans 5,000-pound industrial forklifts in propane and dual fuel, with telehandlers from 5,000 pounds at 18 to 20 feet of reach up to 10,000 pounds at 54 to 56 feet. Compressed air runs from 100 to 120 CFM diesel units up to a 1,600 CFM IQ machine. Agriculture and landscaping adds walk-behind stump grinders and diesel chippers.

Beyond the counter, the company sells a megasite model directly: a fully staffed personal rental yard attached to the jobsite, sized from small urban footprints to acreage in the country, aimed at manufacturing plants, data centres and large infrastructure programmes where equipment logistics become a schedule risk in their own right. Site security for assets on those yards is bundled into the same offering.
