Carl Stahl Sava Industries, Inc.

Sava Industries is a premier mechanical cable manufacturer specializing in custom cable assemblies and wire rope assemblies. With over 50 years of expertise, we provide precision cable assemblies, cable fittings, and wire rope pulleys for diverse industries. Our manufacturing capabilities span across high-demand materials, including tungsten cable, galvanized wire rope, stainless steel cable for surgical robotics, medical, industrial, electronics, aerospace, and consumer markets to develop tailored cable solutions. The company holds ISO 9001:2015 certification, is ITAR registered, and is RoHS and REACH certified.

The Riverdale operation dates to 1970 and has stayed in New Jersey since. In 1988 Sava Industries was acquired by Carl Stahl GmbH of Süssen, Germany, which put a small New Jersey cable maker inside an international group of more than fifty sister companies with sales, manufacturing and customers across more than twenty countries.

Manufacturing and assembly still happen in Riverdale, in roughly 100,000 square feet of plant. The output skews small and precise: miniature and ultrafine motion control cables, small mil-spec wire rope, push-pull controls, fittings and pulleys. Those end up in medical devices and surgical robotics, industrial robotics, aerospace and mil-spec applications, and general industrial and electronics work.

Anyone specifying cable for a robotic instrument knows the constraint — bend radius, fatigue life and repeatability at very small diameters are where most off-the-shelf cable fails. That is the niche this plant works in.

The company has been recognised as a New Jersey Manufacturer of the Year and is profiled by NJMEP among the state’s manufacturers.
