Jason's Upscale Tile

A successful project follows a clear sequence, from measuring and design to setting and grout cure times. A tile installation contractor in Columbia typically begins by confirming substrate flatness, then snaps layout lines to balance cuts in visible areas like backsplashes and shower walls. Correct trowel size and back-buttering help achieve even coverage, while spacers and leveling systems limit lippage on large-format tile. In showers, a waterproof membrane and properly sloped pans protect framing; in kitchens, backsplashes benefit from careful outlet cutouts and edge finishing. Grout is chosen for stain resistance and joint size, and change-of-plane areas are caulked rather than grouted to handle movement. After installation, basic care includes waiting for cure times, sealing cementitious grout if required, and cleaning with a neutral-pH solution. Projects in Columbia, SC may also account for seasonal humidity when scheduling work and cure windows. Jason’s Upscale Tile coordinates these steps so homeowners can expect consistent lines and durable surfaces, from floors to bathroom tile.

Jason Christensen is a second-generation tile installer, and the biography on his About page is unusually concrete about how that happened. He started learning the trade at twelve, spending weekends and summers on tile work; by sixteen he was installing full time; in his early twenties he went independent, specifically to take on more difficult work where the skill would show.

The credential that backs it is checkable. He is a Nationally Certified Tile Installer, CTI #1707, a tested and verified designation, and the company states its installations meet or exceed national ANSI standards. For tile, that distinction carries weight, because most of what determines whether an installation lasts happens under the surface and cannot be inspected once the grout is in.

That is also how the services are organised. Custom showers are built from the studs out with fully sealed, waterproofed substrates, with built-in seating and recessed shelving designed in rather than added. Floor tile, backsplashes and heated floors are the other three named service lines. Large-format tile gets specific attention, where trowel size, back-buttering and leveling systems are what keep lippage under control.

The work is residential and commercial, from a single bathroom renovation to a main-floor installation, and premium tile, stone and setting materials are specified rather than left to whatever is in stock. Job sites are kept tidy, which sounds like a throwaway line until you have lived through a three-week bathroom tear-out.
