Cypress Creek Energy

Cypress Creek Energy is a solar and storage developer founded in 2014, with offices in Santa Monica, California and Durham, North Carolina. The company develops, builds and operates utility-scale solar and battery projects across the United States, and has put gigawatts into service since its founding. Cypress Creek is developing Steel River Energy Center in Arkansas, a solar-plus-storage campus it says will be the largest in the country once complete, anchored by a power purchase agreement with Google. Its work spans project development, engineering and long-term operations.

Cypress Creek operates from seven corporate offices spread across the country, with California locations in Santa Monica and San Francisco, two North Carolina offices in Durham and Asheville, and additional offices in Chicago, New York City, and Washington, D.C. Its Santa Monica office sits at 3402 Pico Blvd.

The company reports having commercialized more than 850 solar and storage projects, totaling roughly 15 GW of clean energy capacity, with projects operated by its team across 28 states. Through the end of 2025, Cypress Creek says it has invested more than $4.5 billion in projects from inception, and its company-owned projects have offset an estimated 14.8 million metric tons of CO2 since founding.

Beyond development, the company’s operations arm, Cypress Creek Solutions, maintains roughly 8.6 GW of solar and storage. That fleet is monitored around the clock from the Cypress Creek Control Center (C4), a NERC-registered, 24/7/365 facility that opened in 2018.

Recent storage work includes Brazos Bend, described as the company’s first fully standalone storage project, commissioned in 2024 in Rosenberg, Texas; the 100 MW system can power about 25,000 Texas homes for two hours. Shakes Solar, its largest completed solar project to date, generates enough electricity to power roughly 54,000 homes. In Texas overall, Cypress Creek operates about 1.4 GW across 13 of its own projects and reports more than 4.4 GW in its development pipeline, with an additional 4.3 GW under development in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and Washington.

Cypress Creek also runs community programs tied to its project areas, including STEM education partnerships in the Carolinas and workforce-training donations to community colleges.
