SWA Group

SWA Group is a landscape architecture, planning and urban design firm whose roots go back to Sasaki, Walker and Associates, formed in 1957. It calls itself one of the first fully employee-owned design firms in the country and still runs that way, as a collective of eight studios: Sausalito, San Francisco, Laguna Beach, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, New York and Shanghai. Work spans parks, waterfronts, campuses, corporate headquarters, resorts and city streets. Two of this week’s projects carry its name. SWA is the landscape architect on Lilli, the OKO Group condo tower in Miami’s Edgewater, and its New York studio, SWA Balsley, is credited on Success Academy’s SOM-designed K-12 campus in the Bronx.
