Spitting Chips

When it comes to tree care, you need to enlist the help of qualified and quality arborists. Specialising in pruning, stump grinding, tree removal and wood chipping. Since 1990, we have always provided the best and environmentally friendly service. Our staff are experienced, skilled and use the most suitable solution to help you with your requirement.

Stump grinding is the service that gives the business its name, and the case for it goes beyond appearance. A ground-out stump removes a pest harbour, eliminates a trip hazard, and leaves a level surface that can be replanted or landscaped over. Cost depends on stump size, depth and location, which is why quoting happens on site rather than over the phone.

Wood chipping closes the loop on the rest of the work. Branches, logs and debris go through the chipper and come back as mulch that can be spread through garden beds to conserve moisture, reduce weeds and enrich soil naturally. Anything not reused is disposed of according to environmental standards and local regulations.

Booking runs in three steps. An online enquiry form goes in first, a specialist then calls to arrange an in-person assessment and a free, detailed quote, and the work follows.

Storm-damaged and hazardous trees are treated as emergency call-outs. For planned removals, the ACT applies its own rules depending on species and location, and the team will help check what approval is required before anything is cut. On trimming, the general advice offered is once a year or every two to three years depending on species, growth rate and site conditions, settled by inspection. Tall trees are within scope; the crew is equipped to prune at height without compromising the tree’s long-term health.

Safety and property protection are treated as standing priorities, with strict protocols on every job and the latest equipment behind them. The business is based at 53 Port Arthur St, Lyons ACT 2606, and can be reached on 0412 623 130 or 02 6282 1016.

Coverage runs across the ACT districts, taking in Canberra Central, Belconnen, Gungahlin, Woden Valley, Weston Creek, Tuggeranong and Molonglo Valley, plus outlying and industrial areas including Hall, Tharwa, Oaks Estate, Pialligo, Jerrabomberra, Fyshwick, Hume and Mitchell.
