Atlantic Dreamscapes

Outdoor hardscapes work best when built on a stable foundation and set with the site’s drainage in mind. Crews typically begin by marking utilities, removing soft soils, and compacting a graded base layer that supports the finished surface. In warm, humid climates, choosing pavers and joint sands that manage moisture helps limit shifting, haze, and weed growth. For driveways, heavier compaction and thicker base materials resist rutting; for pool decks and patios, cooler-to-the-touch surfaces and slip resistance are common priorities. Atlantic Dreamscapes sequences tasks so each step builds on the last, from screeding the bedding layer to laying patterns, cutting borders, and installing edge restraints. After compaction, polymeric sand is swept into joints, and some owners add sealer to simplify cleaning. Routine care includes rinsing debris, spot-treating rust or leaf stains, and refilling sand as needed. In Cocoa, Florida, planning expansion joints and proper slopes helps surfaces handle seasonal rains while keeping water away from home foundations and planting beds.

Atlantic Dreamscapes started in 2017 when two longtime friends, Justin and David, took on a single driveway. Between them they brought project management, land grading, framing and masonry experience, and the business grew on referrals from there. Justin points to the company’s first six-figure project as the milestone he remembers; David’s favourite is still a whole-property transformation in Cocoa Beach.

The work stays inside Brevard County: Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, Port St. John, Rockledge, Satellite Beach, Viera, Indialantic, Titusville and Palm Bay. Services run to paver driveways, patios, pool decks and walkways, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, fire pits, retaining walls, landscape lighting, and artificial turf for lawns, pet runs, playgrounds and putting greens.

A separate restoration and cleaning division was built out by Daniel, who joined in 2023. It handles paver cleaning and sealing on a three-to-five-year cycle, and sealing does three jobs at once here: stain resistance, colour enhancement, and stabilising the joint sand so weeds have less to germinate in. The company is direct about where weeds actually come from, which is seeds and spores landing in the joints rather than pushing up through the base.

They field the efflorescence question often enough to answer it in advance. The white bloom on a new paver surface is salt migrating up through the unit, it is not a defect, and it weathers away or comes off with the right cleaner.

On pavers versus stamped concrete, their argument is maintenance rather than looks. Stamped concrete wants expansion joints about every ten feet and cracks on its own terms, while an individual paver can be lifted for utility access and put back.

Other staff include Nick, project superintendent, and Nicole and Taylor in the office. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
