Kern’s is family-owned and based at 9535 Midwest Avenue, Unit 106 in Garfield Heights, with a staff of roughly fifteen listed on its team page, including a general manager, a production manager, a dedicated repair division and a bench of restoration specialists. Owner Josh Kerney has more than a decade in construction; several of the crew leads bring fifteen to twenty-five years across the trades.

Roofing is the anchor, but the company works the whole exterior. Siding, replacement windows and gutters are handled by the same crews, which matters after a storm event when wind or hail has hit more than one surface. Commercial work includes flat and low-slope systems in TPO, EPDM, PVC and modified bitumen for warehouses, offices, retail centres, restaurants, churches, schools and apartment buildings.

Two details set the inspection process apart from a ladder and a clipboard. Roofs are documented with drone footage before and during the job, and an instant estimate tool measures the roof from satellite imagery for homeowners who want a replacement number without waiting for a site visit. Storm claims come with insurance assistance; customer accounts describe the team meeting adjusters on site and following long claims through to approval.

Materials are never reused and work carries a ten-year craftsmanship warranty on top of the manufacturer’s product warranty. Financing is available, as is a referral rewards programme.

Ventilation gets more attention here than at most roofing outfits: ridge vents, soffit vents and intake and exhaust components are installed or corrected as part of a roofing job, on the reasoning that trapped attic heat and moisture shorten a roof’s life and push up cooling costs. Skylight installation and leak-free flashing work are also in scope.
