The name on the trucks predates the carpets those trucks now clean by more than a century. Teasdale Dye House opened in Cincinnati in 1830, dyeing garments for early settlers, and stayed in the Teasdale family until 1940. In 1967 Teasdale Dye House acquired Fenton Cleaners & Dyers, merging the two into Teasdale Fenton — at the time recognized by the trade paper National Clothesline as the oldest operating dry cleaner in the nation and the third dry cleaner to open in America. The dry cleaning business closed in 1999, and in 2007 Jim, grandson of the man who bought the original dye house, reopened the company as Teasdale Fenton Carpet Cleaning and Restoration, dropping the dry cleaning line entirely.

That 1830 start date is still how the company introduces itself today — its site header reads “Servicing Cincinnati Since 1830” — and it markets more than 200 years of combined service history under that lineage. The restoration side of the business goes beyond the water, fire, and mold cleanup most visitors expect: crews also handle temporary roofing, fencing, and tarping after a loss, soda blasting to strip smoke and char from surfaces, electronic and equipment restoration, and document recovery and drying for damaged paperwork.
