Steven Yeretzian founded Restoration Specialist in December 2017, after spending a week in Phoenix, Arizona training under an established restoration professional on field operations and business systems. His route into the trade was indirect. A Temple University business administration graduate, he ran his brother’s high-volume tropical fish and pet store, then took a management post with Toys “R” Us at the chain’s highest-traffic store classification in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania, then moved into leadership and quality assurance roles in commercial printing. From 2006 he built a rental portfolio that peaked near 40 units, which put him in steady contact with township inspections, building systems and contractor coordination well before the restoration company existed.

The credentials behind the business are specific rather than general. Yeretzian holds IICRC certifications in water damage restoration, fire and smoke damage restoration, mold and antimicrobial remediation, carpet cleaning, asbestos handling and safety, and Xactimate billing and documentation, plus separate biohazard remediation training and OSHA 30-hour safety. The company is certified by the American Bio Recovery Association for biohazard cleanup and disposal. Licensing covers both states it operates in: a New Jersey Home Improvement Contractor License, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection registration and a DEP Transporter License as a self-generator for material disposal, alongside a Pennsylvania Home Improvement License and a Philadelphia Contractor’s License that required OSHA certification. Insurance carried includes general liability, commercial auto, a crime bond, a surety bond and workers’ compensation.
