This is an independently owned and operated Miracle Method franchise based in Oakville, with an office at 4324 Telegraph Road and a showroom on Gravois Road off Highway 141 in Fenton, viewable by appointment.

The core proposition is arithmetic. Refinishing a standard bathtub takes three to five hours, and the tub is usually back in service within 24 hours. Replacing it means demolition, disposal, plumbing, new tile and a wall repair, and the installed cost commonly runs past $3,000 — against a new tub costing $200 to $500 on its own. Refinishing saves up to 75 percent or more, and a kitchen or bath finishes in two to three days rather than weeks.

The range of surfaces is broader than most people assume. Bathtubs in porcelain, fibreglass, acrylic, cultured marble and clawfoot cast iron. Countertops in laminate and Formica, tile, cultured marble, and solid surface materials including Corian and Silestone. Ceramic tile on walls, countertops, showers, shower pans and floors. Fibreglass tub repair and grout cleaning are handled as well, and the company does accessible bathroom conversions — the bathing safety work that matters for someone ageing in place in a house whose only tub is a step-over.

Finish options run past thirty colours, including the Natural Accents line, which produces a stone appearance on a refinished surface. Natural Accents takes about two days to apply plus a 24 to 48 hour cure, varying with humidity and temperature — relevant in a St. Louis August.

Materials use the brand’s MM-4 bonding agent under the acrylic topcoat, which is the step that determines whether a refinished tub holds up or peels in year two. Ask how the surface is prepared before bonding.

The solvent question is worth raising up front: the finishes do contain solvents, ventilation fans exhaust the work area, and most odour dissipates over 24 to 48 hours as the coating cures. Plan accordingly if someone in the house is sensitive.

The location holds memberships in the local Chamber of Commerce, the Better Business Bureau, the National Kitchen and Bath Association and the American Hotel and Lodging Association — that last one reflecting the commercial hospitality side, where refinishing a floor of hotel bathrooms avoids taking rooms out of service for weeks.

Note that each Miracle Method franchise is independently owned. Figures on the brand’s national pages describe the franchise system, not this St. Louis operation.
