Helms Plumbing and Drains has operated as a family-owned plumbing company since 2016, working out of Gastonia and covering a service radius that crosses the state line into South Carolina.

That two-state footprint is the detail most directory listings miss. On the North Carolina side the company serves Gastonia, Charlotte, Belmont, Cherryville, Dallas, Lowell, Mount Holly, Stanley, Bessemer City, Cramerton, McAdenville, High Shoals, Lincolnton, Iron Station, Alexis, Crouse, Vale, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Matthews, Pineville, Paw Creek, and Newell. Across the border it reaches Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Clover, York, Catawba, Bowling Green, Sharon, Smyrna, McConnells, and Hickory Grove.

Emergency work is available 24/7 for both residential and commercial properties, with the company naming leaks, clogged drains, broken pipes, water heater failures, and gas line issues as the calls it responds to overnight.

The service list runs wider than general plumbing repair. Beyond fixtures, faucets, showerheads, sinks, toilets, garbage disposals, and kitchen and bathroom plumbing, Helms handles natural gas lines, pumps, sewer lines, backflow devices and backflow testing, and trenchless sewer line repair, which addresses a failed lateral without excavating the front yard. Water quality is a distinct department covering water filtration and whole-home water treatment systems. Septic system work and plumbing inspections round out the list, and there is a separate commercial plumbing line.

A few operational commitments are stated plainly on the site. The company holds license #34138 and describes itself as fully licensed and insured. Estimates are free and no-obligation. Financing options are offered for larger jobs. Every team member goes through background checks and drug testing before working in a customer’s home, which is a specific screening claim rather than a vague reassurance.

Customer feedback volume is the other number the company puts forward, citing more than 300 positive reviews and a 4.4 out of 5 rating across 290-plus reviews as of its current site.

Practically, the mix here suits a homeowner in Gaston County or south Charlotte who wants one contractor for both the acute problem and the underlying system. The same company that clears a Saturday-night drain backup can quote a trenchless sewer replacement, install a tankless or tank water heater, test a backflow preventer for a municipality, and put in a filtration system to deal with hard water. For a 2016-founded shop, that is a fairly complete residential and light-commercial plumbing bench.
