Cumming Group is a project management and cost consultancy founded in Southern California in 1996 and now headquartered in New York City, with more than 3,000 staff across 70-plus offices in the Americas and Europe. The firm works owner-side, delivering program and project management, cost and commercial management, scheduling, project controls, lender project monitoring, dispute avoidance, and energy and sustainability advisory. Staff credentials include PE, RA, CCM, PMP, LEED AP and Chartered Quantity Surveyor. Cumming ranks in the ENR Top 100 for program and construction management and is Great Place To Work Certified in three countries. Projects include Terminal One at JFK and One Wall Street in New York. In August 2026 the firm merged TLM Group into its Advanced Technologies division.
The sector list on Cumming Group’s site is a useful read on where the firm’s work actually sits: advanced technologies, data centers, research and manufacturing, healthcare, higher education, K-12 education, government, culture and non-profit, hospitality and gaming, luxury residential, retail, sports and recreation, themed entertainment, transportation and infrastructure, and workplace. The firm points to semiconductor onshoring in North America and to the energy and water demands of the data centers behind AI as two of the pressures shaping its current portfolio.
Named North American commissions include Disney’s New York headquarters at 7 Hudson Square, the Meta Spring District campus, Gateway of Pacific Buildings 1-3, Amazon HQ1 in Seattle, Sphere at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, Seattle Children’s Hospital, the Studio Museum in Harlem, Netflix House, Columbia University, Portland International Airport and Compton High School. Scope varies job to job. The Seattle Children’s engagement lists cost and commercial management, energy and sustainability solutions, program and project management, project controls and project monitoring together, while other assignments draw on a single service line.
The Europe and UK practice runs a partly different menu. Alongside programme and project management and cost and commercial management it offers building consultancy and technical due diligence and capital allowances, and it adds aviation, energy, highways, rail and mass transit, student accommodation and utilities to its sector coverage. Work named on that side of the business includes Dwr Cymru Welsh Water, the Royal Irish Academy of Music, the Cherrywood Life Sciences Incubation Hub, Zendesk’s EMEA headquarters, the Lot 2 terminal reconfiguration and extension at London Luton Airport, The St. Regis Rome, Escapade Silverstone in England and Dublin City Bus Connects.
Recent growth has come partly through acquisition. Three days after the TLM Group merger in August 2026, Dublin-headquartered OutForm Consulting joined the firm, bringing infrastructure advisory work across planning, delivery, performance improvement and digital innovation in Ireland and the UK; OutForm was founded in 2018. Internally, Cumming has assembled what it calls an integrated digital ecosystem, pairing data, automation and AI with construction experience across the project lifecycle. The firm also publishes a monthly Market Analysis that combines a snapshot on one current topic with a standing set of data dashboards tracking construction market conditions, and it reports carrying more than 50 open positions at any given time across its Americas and European operations.
