Plaza Companies

Plaza Companies is a Peoria, Ariz., real estate firm founded in 1982 that develops, buys, manages and leases property across metro Phoenix. Its mix is broader than most local developers: mixed-use, office, medical office, senior living, hotels and bioscience space, with Phoenix’s Park Central redevelopment as a signature project. Hospitality is a newer push. After a Tru by Hilton and Home2 Suites pairing at Park Central, Plaza and Fayth Hospitality are now breaking ground on Hotel Six Four, a 257-room dual-brand Hilton near Mayo Clinic’s Phoenix campus. Plaza is acting as development and construction manager on the six-story building, and JLL placed a $70.85 million construction loan for it on Nov. 3, 2026. Opening is targeted for 2028.

The figure that frames this firm is 14 million square feet: the amount of property it states it has built, owns, leases or manages. Four decades of work in one metro area accumulates that way.

Five service lines carry it. Brokerage, property management, development, leasing, and a tenant improvement construction management arm that handles the fit-out work most owners outsource to a separate contractor. Having leasing and TI construction under the same roof matters for medical office space, where a new tenant usually means exam rooms, plumbing and shielded imaging walls rather than carpet and paint.

SkySong, The ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center, is the firm’s signature mixed-use project, described on its site as over a million square feet. One of its own offices sits there, at 1365 N. Scottsdale Road, alongside the main office at 9401 W. Thunderbird Road in Peoria.

On the medical office side, Paradise Valley Medical Plaza is published as a 50,686 square foot complex, the kind of asset that makes up much of the managed portfolio.

Senior living is a real line of business rather than a sideline. Two communities the firm is associated with, Vi at Silverstone and Vi at Grayhawk, have been recognised by U.S. News & World Report among top senior living communities in the Phoenix area.

Coverage is organised by submarket, with Phoenix, Scottsdale, Glendale, Peoria and the East Valley each handled as its own territory.

Sharon Harper, chairman and chief executive, writes for the firm’s site directly, which is a useful signal of where the strategy comes from. General enquiries go to the Peoria office on 623-972-1184.
