Plaza Construction is a construction management and general contracting firm founded in 1986 and headquartered in New York, with major operations in Florida and the Washington D.C. region. The company builds corporate office towers, high-rise residential, hospitality, healthcare and institutional projects, and carries a substantial interiors and fit-out practice. Plaza is the general contractor on Royal Caribbean Group’s campus headquarters expansion at PortMiami, a 10-story, 350,000-square-foot HOK-designed office building that topped out in June 2026 as part of a roughly $300 million campus program. The building’s floor plates cantilever three to twelve feet past the glass line to shade the facade and reduce mechanical load, and it is scheduled for completion in late 2026.

Plaza Construction sells five distinct service lines, and the distinctions matter when scoping an engagement. Construction management puts the firm in an advisory seat during preconstruction, running due diligence before commitments harden. General contracting covers the bid and execution phase, with the stated emphasis on driving value at bid and then controlling the job to minimize change orders. Program management supplies an embedded construction expert to owners who do not have one on staff, handling project accounting, scheduling and trade bidding. Design/build pairs Plaza with a design team from the outset. Construction consulting unbundles everything else – budget verification, independent budget auditing and cost estimating, peer review oversight, construction accounting, logistics, scheduling, safety analysis and sustainability advice – for clients who want one piece rather than the whole delivery.

The head office is at 360 Lexington Avenue in Manhattan, with regional offices in New Jersey, Washington DC, Miami and Tampa. Plaza traces its origins to a mix of construction, real estate, investment and development management, and points to that owner-developer-builder background as the reason it reads a pro forma the way a client does.

On the technology side the firm runs an in-house virtual design and construction group on Autodesk Revit and Navisworks and Bentley MicroStation, integrated with Primavera P6 scheduling and its own project management applications. BIM output feeds 3D and 4D logistics planning, estimating, constructability review, visualization and MEP trade coordination, with external modeling resources available domestically and abroad when volume demands it.

Supplier diversity is tracked in dollars rather than statements of intent: over the last five years Plaza has contracted more than $411 million to small and socio-economically disadvantaged businesses, including certified minority-owned, women-owned, DBE, veteran-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned and HubZone contractors. Its project record includes the MTA’s Fulton Center, the CRRC North America railcar factory, Station House in the Mid-Atlantic, and One Thousand Museum.
