Clancy & Theys Construction has built across the Southeast since 1949, working from offices in Raleigh, Wilmington, and beyond. The employee-owned general contractor handles healthcare, education, government, and commercial projects, with a reputation for community-scale work in North Carolina’s smaller markets. The firm is building the new 35,000-square-foot Health Sciences building at Sampson Community College in Clinton, a project aimed at expanding nursing and allied-health training in a rural county. Clancy & Theys runs preconstruction and construction management services alongside general contracting, and it has stayed independent and employee-owned while larger competitors consolidated.

Clancy & Theys operates six offices along the East Coast: its Raleigh headquarters at 421 N. Harrington Street plus Charlotte and Wilmington, North Carolina; Newport News, Virginia; Winter Garden, Florida; and Greenville, South Carolina – with completed projects reaching 19 states. Leadership passed in 2022 to President Baker Glasgow following Tim Clancy’s retirement.

The firm holds state contractor licenses across California, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington and West Virginia. Its services extend beyond general contracting to preconstruction, design-build, self-perform, and an in-house Virtual Design & Construction group using drones and immersive-reality technology. Engineering News-Record ranks it a Top 125 national contractor and Top 50 CM-at-Risk builder, and the company positions itself as a regional leader in sustainable, green-building construction.
