Civic Construction is a Miami general contractor founded by CEO William J. Real, a state-certified GC with more than 30 years in the trade. The company builds high-rise residential, office and mixed-use projects around Miami-Dade, and its portfolio includes The Link at Douglas Station towers, Missoni Baia, 830 Brickell, Una Residences, The Standard Residences and Indian Creek Residences & Yacht Club. Civic is general contractor on One Kane, the 126,000-square-foot Class A office building Taubco and Landau Properties are developing at 9551 East Bay Harbor Drive in Bay Harbor Islands. The concrete frame went up in about 10 months and topped out in October, and delivery’s expected late in the first quarter or early in the second quarter of 2027.
Five service lines, and the second is the unusual one. Civic lists turn-key construction services, co-developer and construction partner, pre-construction planning and consulting, construction management, and general contracting. The co-developer line means the firm will join the development and ownership team rather than contract to it, taking an owner’s position on decisions, timeline and long-term outcome. Contractors willing to do that are a small part of the market.
The turn-key offering is correspondingly broad. Civic describes handling site selection, planning, legal and zoning entitlements, design and design development, marketing, financing and permitting, then construction, sales and stabilisation, using in-house professionals alongside specialist consultants.
The geography is wider than the Miami address suggests: multi-family rentals, condominiums, commercial offices and resort developments across Florida, New York and the Caribbean, and by the firm’s count around 20 million square feet of construction delivered.
The pre-construction pitch is specific about why it exists. Civic argues early contractor involvement is what keeps a project on budget and on schedule, by letting the team anticipate problems, value-engineer costs and remove costly surprises before ground breaks. The construction-management philosophy is stated just as plainly: stay hands-on, communicate consistently, resolve issues immediately, and never compromise on quality, design or integrity.
The completed list runs to 830 Brickell Tower, UNA Residences at Brickell, Missoni Baia Tower, the first two Link at Douglas Station towers and the Douglas Road Metrorail Station itself. Active work includes Link at Douglas Towers III and IV, Bay Harbor Towers, One Kane Concourse, Indian Creek Residences and Yacht Club, The Standard Residences, Tamiair Business Center and Haus 27 — a mix of residential towers, a yacht-club development and a business centre rather than a single repeated product.
The office is at 4691 SW 71st Avenue, Miami, on (305) 661-4859. General enquiries go to info@civicconstruction.com and the careers inbox is separate. The firm publishes no social profiles.
