BDI Construction Company

BDI Construction Company is a Miami general contractor founded in 1994 by Teobaldo Rosell Sr., a Georgia Tech-trained industrial engineer whose construction career dates to 1974. The firm works out of offices on NW 12th Street near Miami International Airport and lists more than 50 employees. It handles general contracting and construction management statewide across Florida, with a book of business built on schools, university buildings and affordable and multifamily housing. Recent work on its site includes the Tucker Tower apartments and KLA Academy in Miami. BDI built Courtside Apartments II in Overtown, a $58 million, 120-unit affordable housing development for Housing Trust Group and AM Affordable Housing that opened in October 2026.

Statewide is a claim a lot of South Florida contractors make and few demonstrate. BDI’s own project list carries the evidence: The Fountains at Hidden Lake Apartments sits in Crystal River, on the Gulf coast roughly three hundred miles from the Miami office, which is a genuine mobilization rather than a drive up the turnpike.

The company offers two routes onto a job, general contracting and construction management, and the distinction matters for an owner deciding how much risk to hold. The work behind both is consistent: multi-family housing and schools, the buildings the company frames as the places Floridians spend their lives in.

Ownership has passed to a second generation of the founding family, which in a market where contractors appear and disappear with the cycle is itself a useful signal for an owner weighing a bid. More than fifty employees work statewide.

The office is at 7270 NW 12th St, Suite 200, Miami, FL 33126, near the airport. Worth noting for anyone sending documents: the company uses info@bdico.com for contact, a shorter domain than the one its website runs on.
