Century Fire Protection is a fire protection contractor headquartered on Satellite Boulevard in Duluth, Georgia, and a subsidiary of Toronto-based FirstService. It has operated since 2000 and now lists more than 2,000 employees in over 40 offices across 14 states, with licenses in 42. The company designs, installs, inspects and services sprinkler, fire alarm, special hazard and extinguisher systems, runs 24-hour emergency service and sells parts. Many of its branches still carry the names of firms it has bought, such as Titan Fire Protection and ASA Fire Protection. On Oct. 19, 2026, Century acquired A&A Fire Protection of Greenville, South Carolina, a sprinkler contractor dating to 1977, after buying GSC Fire & Security and Titan Fire Protection in May.
Scott Tutterow came into the fire protection trade in 1985 as a pipe fitter and foreman. He founded Century Fire Protection in 2000 and is now its executive chairman. Richard Deeb, who joined in 2004 as a construction superintendent on mall and shopping center jobs, is chief executive and president. Neither came in from outside the field.
The company now runs 44 locations across 14 states and is licensed in 42. Much of that footprint arrived by acquisition, and Century still operates a long list of regional brands under its umbrella — Citadel Fire Sprinkler, Accelerated Fire Protection, Titan Fire Protection, ASA Fire Protection, Swift Fire Protection, Advantage Fire, US Sprinkler, Aegis, Collins, Chesapeake, Allied, Sentry, Cemco Systems, International Equipment Company, Oasis, GSC Fire & Security, TST, Alliance Fire & Safety and Cornet among them. For anyone checking whether a local company is part of the group, that list is the place to look.
Work is split across sprinklers, alarms, special hazards suppression and extinguishers, with inspection and maintenance programs underneath. Designers and engineers work in BIM and CAD in-house, an in-house fabrication shop builds sprinkler components, and quality-control technicians who are not part of the installing crew test finished systems against NFPA guidelines.
Emergency service carries a specific promise rather than a general one: a guaranteed confirmation call within 30 minutes, with a live operator answering the emergency line.
Eleven vertical markets are served, and several demand unusual approaches. Cold storage work is handled as a licensed Quell installer, a ceiling-only protection method designed for freezers and low-temperature facilities. Healthcare projects have to satisfy Joint Commission requirements as well as fire code. Data centers, commercial high rise, power generation, government and municipal, manufacturing, warehouse, higher education, retail and multi-family fill out the rest.
Equipment experience spans the major manufacturers — Fike, Ansul, Kidde, CV Technology, Janus, Pyrochem, Badger, GreCon, Protectowire and Xtralis on the special hazards side; Honeywell, Notifier, Fire-Lite, Gamewell FCI, Farenhyt, Silent Knight, Potter, Siemens, Ademco, Simplex, Viking and Edwards on alarms, plus mass notification, gas detection and bi-directional amplifier systems.
Century 360 is the program for owners with buildings in several states: a dedicated program manager plus certified service partners nationwide, so one contact covers a portfolio.
Training courses run at the company’s own facility or on site, and a parts store operates separately online. Community work is organized around people, community and environment, including an annual clay shoot with Graystone Church benefiting orphan and foster-family ministries. Recent business journal rankings placed the company fourth among metro Atlanta specialty contractors and twelfth in Orlando.
