Mueller Associates, Inc.

Mueller Associates is a 55-person MEP engineering firm in Linthicum, Maryland that has been designing building systems since 1966 and has completed more than 3,400 projects. The practice covers mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, fire protection engineering, and energy-efficient systems design, with an unusual specialty in museum environmental and collections-control systems, where humidity and particulate tolerances are far tighter than in ordinary commercial work. That niche has produced a Smithsonian-heavy portfolio: the National Air and Space Museum, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the National Native American Veterans Memorial, and fire suppression at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Mueller also handled mechanical and electrical design for Mitchell Hall, Virginia Tech’s $292 million engineering building in Blacksburg, which topped out in July 2026.
