Ardurra is a national engineering and consulting firm headquartered in Tampa, Florida, built out through a sustained acquisition program into one of the faster-growing names on ENR’s design rankings. The firm covers water and wastewater, transportation, aviation, municipal engineering, construction management, environmental services, program management and building engineering, working mostly for public agencies and utilities. Ardurra provides program and engineering support on the Spokane International Airport TREX program, the phased terminal expansion whose $195 million Central Hall package broke ground in 2026. The firm operates from dozens of offices across the South, West and Midwest and continues to add regional practices through acquisition rather than organic office openings.
The growth curve is worth stating plainly: from roughly 100 employees at formation in 2017 to more than 2,600 today, across over 120 offices. The locations directory currently lists 109 offices spanning 24 states plus Puerto Rico, and an office in Bogota, Colombia.
Two of those are in Tampa, at 4921 Memorial Highway and 1107 North Ward Street. Note that the firm’s own site now designates Miami, at 1000 NW 57th Court, as headquarters, following that office’s opening in 2024.
The acquisition trail behind the growth is specific: King Engineering Associates in 2017, T-O Engineers in 2022, WK Dickson in 2024, and Remington & Vernick Engineers in 2026. Each brought a regional practice rather than a new discipline, which is why the service mix has stayed coherent while the map has not.
Where the firm actually ranks is more informative than the headline. ENR’s 2026 lists place Ardurra at #48 among the Top 500 Design Firms, #39 among the Top 100 Pure Design Firms, #86 on the Top 150 Global Design Firms and #70 on the Top 200 Environmental Firms. In the specialty categories the picture sharpens considerably: #11 in water supply, #10 in wastewater treatment plants, #10 in water treatment and desalination, and #12 in sanitary and storm sewers. Water is the firm’s strongest hand by some distance.
Beyond the core markets, the specialty service lines include emergency management and recovery, instrumentation and controls, power and renewables, grant funding, geospatial, landscape architecture, and big data and AI. Grant funding as an in-house service is a practical offering for small utilities that cannot staff it themselves.
Featured projects include the Pflugerville Water Treatment Facility, the SR 836 / I-395 / I-95 reconstruction design-build in Miami, and runway rehabilitation at Friedman Memorial Airport in Sun Valley.
The company name is explained as meaning diligent and responsible in Basque, and superior in Gaelic. It was named a 2025 Greatest Midsize Workplace by Newsweek and a 2025 Best Workplace for Innovators by Fast Company.
