The LiRo Group

The LiRo Group was founded in 1984 and runs from a corporate headquarters at 3 Aerial Way in Syosset, on Long Island. It provides construction management, program management, engineering, architecture and environmental services, and now operates under the LiRo-Hill brand following its joint venture with Hill International. Clients run from villages and private developers to state agencies, and the work covers highways, bridges, transit, schools, healthcare and public buildings. LiRo managed construction of the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, and LiRo-Hill won the project management contract on Amtrak’s $242 million Dock Bridge rehabilitation in July 2026. The firm has roughly 900 employees across 14 offices.

The LiRo Group and Hill Northeast now operate under a single name, LiRo-Hill, and the combined firm’s published figures have moved with the merger: 42-plus years in business, 13 locations and more than 1,100 team members. The liro.com domain remains, but the branding across the site is LiRo-Hill.

Third-party rankings are cited directly on the homepage. LiRo-Hill placed fifth on Engineering News-Record’s 2025 Top 50 Construction Management Firms, fourteenth on ENR’s CM/PM-for-fee ranking, and twelfth on Crain’s New York Business 2025 list of the largest engineering firms.

The office map is dense in New York State. Syosset holds corporate headquarters. Beyond it sit One State Street Plaza in lower Manhattan, plus Brooklyn, Whitestone, Mineola, Buffalo and Rochester. Outside New York the locations page lists Edison, New Jersey; Scranton, Pennsylvania; Stamford and Glastonbury, Connecticut; Newton, Massachusetts; and a combined office and laboratory at Hopkinton, Massachusetts.

On the subcontracting side, LiRo-Hill runs an active MWDBE effort, mentoring minority- and women-owned firms and Section 3 hires and routing contractors toward NYCEDC’s Construct NYC programme and the New York City School Construction Authority mentor track. Principals at Laland Baptiste and BuiStudio are quoted on the site describing that mentoring as the route by which they expanded services and client bases. The firm also keeps a prequalified subcontractor list for future bidding. Recent project work in the public record includes construction management at Pier 76 in Manhattan, the SUNY Stony Brook Medical and Research Translation building and hospital pavilion, and the Niagara Falls State Park facilities and landscape rehabilitation. In June 2026 the rehabilitation of seven bridges on the Grand Central Parkway won the ASCE Metropolitan Section innovative delivery project of the year award, and the Brooklyn District 3 sanitation garage was featured in Building Design + Construction the following month.
