Construction Estimating Inc

We provide precise construction estimating, detailed material takeoffs, and quantity surveying solutions tailored for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Covering all major trades from structural and architectural to MEP and sitework we deliver accuracy, speed, and cost-effective insights that help contractors, builders, and developers win more bids and maximize project value.

Built around turnaround time

Most estimating firms sell accuracy. Construction Estimating Inc sells both, and puts clocks on them: plans sent during business hours get a response on scope and pricing in 15 to 20 minutes, and a finished estimate comes back in 10 to 38 hours. The company also publishes a 96% accuracy figure for its numbers. For a contractor staring at a bid deadline, those are the two variables that decide whether outsourcing the takeoff is worth it.

The firm is a registered Alberta company working from Calgary, and it serves contractors, developers and builders in all 10 provinces, from British Columbia through to the Maritimes. It states it prices using current-year cost data and local supplier relationships across the provinces, so that estimates track actual market conditions rather than a national average.

The service list is organised the way an estimator thinks rather than the way a marketing page usually reads. At the top sit cost estimating, quantity takeoff, BIM estimating, budget and preliminary estimating, blueprint estimating and building cost estimating, split again by project type into residential, commercial and industrial. Renovation estimating and green building estimating are handled separately.

Below that, the trade breakdowns are where the depth shows. Interior and exterior finishes cover drywall takeoff, painting, concrete and masonry. MEP is split into mechanical, piping, plumbing, duct, gutter and electrical. Metals are split into structural steel and rebar. Thermal and moisture protection covers fireproofing, insulation and roofing. There is also sitework and landscaping estimating, lumber and millwork, openings, and HVAC. A contractor can send a single trade package rather than a whole building, which is how most subcontractors actually buy this service.

The output is described as bid-ready: a cost summary with quantities and dollar figures per division, of the kind that can be submitted rather than re-typed.
