All State Estimation Canada works from 595 St Clair Avenue West in Toronto and, by its own count, has spent seven-plus years doing nothing but pre-construction numbers, more than five thousand estimates for a client base it puts at over five hundred contractors.

Intake is document-driven. Send PDFs, CAD files or plan sets and the takeoff is built from those, with no site visit in the loop, which is why the work is as easy to buy from another province as from across Toronto. Output lands as Excel, PDF or a client-specified format, broken into trade-specific material and labour lists rather than a single bottom-line figure, which is the form a contractor can drop straight into a bid sheet.

The software stack is named openly: PlanSwift for measurement, Bluebeam for PDF markup and dimensioning, Trimble for estimating, RSMeans and STACK for cost data and digital takeoff, and Excel templates for the deliverable itself. The company claims 95 per cent or better accuracy across projects and a 4.8 client rating.

Trade coverage is wide enough to price a whole job rather than one scope: civil and structural, architectural, MEP, sitework and excavation, drywall, lumber and finishes, and steel, insulation and paint. Project types run past the usual residential and commercial split into civil infrastructure, education, healthcare, public safety, urban development, parks and recreation, sports and entertainment, retail and mixed-use development.

Geographic reach is national. Ontario coverage includes Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton, Mississauga and Brampton; in Alberta, Calgary and Edmonton; in British Columbia, Vancouver, Surrey and Burnaby; in Quebec, Montreal and Quebec City; plus Halifax in Nova Scotia and Winnipeg in Manitoba.

Two things are worth knowing before calling. Quoting is free, and the company states there are no hidden fees in what it charges, with pricing set per project once it has seen the drawings rather than from a published rate card. And while the phone line keeps 9am to 6pm hours, live chat and email are staffed around the clock, which is the practical channel when a bid closes tomorrow and the drawings only landed tonight.
