Weeks Marine

Weeks Marine is one of the largest marine construction and dredging contractors in North America, founded in 1919 as the Weeks Stevedoring Company with two cranes working bunker coal in the Port of New York. The Cranford, New Jersey firm was acquired by Kiewit Corporation in January 2023 and continues to operate under its own name. Its work covers dredging, pile driving, dock and pier construction, heavy lift and marine support for tunneling. Weeks Marine holds the Hudson River Ground Stabilization contract on the Hudson Tunnel Project, where the Gateway Development Commission approved an $88 million change order in July 2026 to remove roughly 500 submerged timber piles ahead of tunnel boring in 2028.

Weeks Marine reaches across North America and into the Pacific through a family of specialized subsidiaries – Healy Tibbitts Builders on the West Coast and in Hawaii, McNally International in Canada, and North American Aggregates – that extend its marine construction and dredging capacity well beyond its Cranford, New Jersey base. The contractor’s core services include dredging, marine and waterfront construction, tunneling support and aggregates supply, drawing on more than a century of heavy-marine experience. Since becoming a Kiewit subsidiary in 2023 it has continued operating under its own name and brand. That combination of deep equipment fleets and regional subsidiaries is what lets it take on large port, coastal and offshore work.
