MasTec

MasTec is a diversified infrastructure contractor headquartered in Coral Gables, Florida, and one of the biggest builders of energy, utility, and communications infrastructure in North America. The company builds high-voltage transmission, pipelines, wireless and wireline networks, and renewable-energy facilities, self-performing most of the work. In July 2026 MasTec agreed to acquire Superior Group for $1.65 billion, adding electrical crews and equipment to its utility services division as grid modernization outpaces organic hiring. With tens of thousands of workers deployed across the continent, MasTec sits at the center of the transmission buildout driving data centers, reshoring, and electrification.

MasTec organizes its work into four reporting segments – Communications, Power Delivery, Pipeline Infrastructure, and Clean Energy and Infrastructure – covering wireless and wireline/fiber, utility transmission and distribution, natural gas pipelines, renewable-energy engineering and construction, and heavy civil work. As of December 31, 2024, the company reported roughly 32,000 employees across about 770 locations and ranked among the top five firms on Engineering News-Record’s Top 400 Contractors. Its pending acquisition of The Superior Group is aimed at expanding capabilities in data-center and mission-critical infrastructure end markets.
