Halmar International

Halmar International is one of the Northeast’s largest heavy-civil and transportation contractors, based in Nanuet, New York. The firm builds bridges, highways, rail and transit infrastructure across the New York metropolitan region, with major work for the MTA, NJ Transit, Amtrak and state DOTs. Founded in 1986, Halmar self-performs much of its civil scope, from foundations to structural concrete. In 2026 the company led Penn Transformation Partners alongside Skanska, the joint venture selected as master developer for the transformation of New York’s Penn Station. Halmar is known for complex projects delivered around live rail and roadway operations.
