ROSSETTI

ROSSETTI is a Detroit architecture firm founded in 1969, best known for sports and entertainment venues and public spaces. The practice designs stadiums, arenas and mixed-use districts, and it’s designing AlumniFi Field, Detroit City FC’s 15,000-seat stadium in Southwest Detroit, alongside HOK. ROSSETTI has a long history with sports architecture, from tennis and soccer venues to arena renovations, and it brings that specialization to a hometown project. Working in its own city on a supporter-driven club gives the firm a visible civic commission. Its portfolio spans sports, commercial and institutional work, much of it centered on how people move through and gather in large venues.

ROSSETTI moved into sports and entertainment in 1984 when it designed The Palace of Auburn Hills, and that specialty has defined the Detroit firm ever since – stadiums, arenas and mixed-use entertainment districts for clients worldwide. Founded by Gino Rossetti in 1969, the practice is organized as a collective of studios spanning planning, architecture, interiors and analytics, the last of which brings data to questions like sightlines and crowd flow. In 2013 it relocated its headquarters into downtown Detroit’s former Federal Reserve building. Working as a design collective rather than a single-discipline shop lets it carry a venue from master plan through interior fit-out.
