GarciaStromberg is a West Palm Beach architecture and interior design studio that Jorge Garcia has led since 1987, with partner Peter Stromberg setting much of the design direction. The firm works mostly in hospitality, resort, condominium and mixed-use buildings, and it’s spent decades on Florida coastal work along with projects in Central America. Its interior team works alongside the architects on the same jobs rather than as a separate shop. The current headline project is The Island at West Bay Club in Estero, a 24-story, 86-residence condominium tower for Kolter Urban that Manhattan Construction Company topped out in late October 2026. That’s the last neighborhood planned inside the 868-acre West Bay Club community, and it’s a good read on where Southwest Florida’s luxury condo market has gone since Hurricane Ian.
Evolution since 1987
GarciaStromberg marks its start at 1987, and the studio page frames the intervening period as evolution rather than growth: over 30 years creating architecture and interior design for hospitality, residential and mixed-use buildings, from cities throughout Florida into expanding urban areas of Central America. That Central American work is the part most Florida practices do not have, and the firm attributes its approach there to immersing itself in the cultural particulars of local vernacular.
The two named partners have different roles, and the site is explicit about it. Jorge Garcia, partner and chief executive, is an honour graduate of the University of Miami and has driven the firm’s growth since 1987. He is registered in 13 states, works across hotels and resorts, commercial, institutional, mixed-use and residential projects, and the firm positions him on the planning, approval and entitlement side, which in South Florida is frequently the hardest part of a project. Peter Stromberg, partner and president, is a Mississippi State graduate described as the design vision behind a number of national and international projects, working through from initial design to presentation drawings and construction, and drawing on painting, sculpture and music in the process.
Roger Grave de Peralta, executive vice president, joined in 2004. He holds a master of architecture with distinction from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design and a bachelor of design in architecture with highest honours from the University of Florida, is a Florida-registered architect, and is a LEED accredited professional specialising in building and construction. He served as LEED project coordinator for what the firm describes as the first LEED certified furniture showroom in Florida, has taught architectural theory and design as an adjunct professor at Florida Atlantic University’s school of architecture, and leads teams working on 3D computer modelling and visualisation.
The practice runs architecture and interior design as one process rather than two handoffs, with the interiors team working alongside the architectural team so that spatial flow matches the building fabric.
Named projects include Glass House in Boca Raton, Pier Sixty-Six Residences in Fort Lauderdale, and Alina Residences. Sources: garciastromberg.com homepage and Studio page.
