Westwood Professional Services

Westwood Professional Services is a multidiscipline engineering firm that Fran Hagen Sr. founded in Minnesota in 1972. It’s now headquartered in Plano, Texas, with offices in about 20 states, and its biggest market is renewable power: solar, wind, battery storage and the substations and transmission lines that connect them. It also does civil, structural, geotechnical, surveying, LiDAR and planning work for data centers, communities and public infrastructure. In the Mojave Desert, Westwood led design of Bellefield Solar Project 1 for AES Clean Energy, the 1,000-MW first phase of what AES calls the largest solar-plus-storage project in the U.S., built on a former munitions depot that had to be swept for ordnance first. ENR West named it a 2026 Best Project.
