Malcolm Drilling

Malcolm Drilling has been building deep foundations since 1962 and runs one of the larger specialty geotechnical fleets in the country, valued by the company at roughly $400 million. From its San Francisco headquarters the firm operates offices in California, Washington, Utah, Nevada, Wisconsin, Florida, Texas and Virginia. Scope covers drilled shafts, earth retention, cut-off and diaphragm walls, ground improvement, jet grouting, sonic drilling and construction dewatering, frequently on a design-build or design-assist basis where the shoring scheme drives the excavation sequence. Projects range from urban high-rise foundations to seismic work, including the base-isolated foundation retrofit at Salt Lake Temple Square. Malcolm is the deep foundations and shoring contractor on the Marriner S. Eccles Federal Reserve Building renovation in Washington, D.C.
