Tutor Perini Building Corp. will run a $140 million renovation and expansion of the Choctaw Casino & Resort in Pocola, Oklahoma, for the Choctaw Nation. The centerpiece is a new seven-story, 130-room hotel tower going up on the property while the casino, the existing hotel and every restaurant on site stay open for business. JCJ Architecture designed the expansion. Preconstruction ran through 2025 and field work is set to start in the third quarter of 2026.
Project Scope
The new tower carries 130 guest rooms including premium suites, a full-service spa, a 24-hour fitness center, and a resort pool with private cabanas and an outdoor bar. Inside the existing building, the scope reaches the casino floor, guest registration, restrooms, and all of the food and gaming venues. The original 118-room hotel gets a complete refit: carpet, lighting, tile, plumbing fixtures, bathroom finishes and case goods. A coffee and tea bar is part of the new public space.
Why It Matters
Phasing is the difficult part of this job. Gutting an operating casino means night work, temporary partitions, dust and noise control against a live gaming floor, and constant coordination with an operator who can’t afford to lose seat time. Tribal gaming has stayed one of the steadier hospitality niches for large builders while the rest of the commercial market leans hard on data centers. It’s also a firmer number than most hospitality announcements. Tutor Perini spent a year in preconstruction before the $140 million figure went public, which means the estimate has drawings behind it rather than a concept-level allowance.
