Anduril Arsenal-1 Hyperscale Manufacturing Facility

Five million square feet of defense manufacturing on a greenfield next to a cargo airport.

Arsenal-1 is Anduril Industries’ first “hyperscale” plant, going up on roughly 500 acres in Pickaway County, Ohio, about 16 miles southeast of Columbus and adjacent to Rickenbacker International Airport. Ohio officials call it the largest single job-creation and new-payroll project in state history.

Project Scope

At full buildout: seven buildings plus four support spaces, totaling around 5 million square feet.

Building 1 is the near-term package — 775,000 square feet of production plus 120,000 square feet of office and support, roughly 895,000 square feet in all. It’s well underway. Building 2 broke ground in summer 2025.

The first program off the line is the YFQ-44A “Fury,” an autonomous fighter aircraft. Anduril has said the first jets ship in the quarter ending June 30, 2026, with production ramping at Arsenal-1 through the summer.

Anduril has not publicly named a general contractor, architect, or delivery method for the campus, which is unusual for a project of this size and worth noting rather than guessing at.

Why It Matters

Anduril projects more than 4,000 production and service jobs by 2035. As of early 2026 roughly 50 workers were on site, many of them veterans.

The money is a mix. JobsOhio reports more than $900 million in capital investment and a $310 million grant toward the project; other figures in circulation run to $1 billion and $2 billion, and they aren’t measuring the same thing. Treat the capex number, not the economic-impact number, as the construction figure.

The site logic is straightforward: Rickenbacker is a cargo airport with rail and interstate access. If you’re building aircraft and intending to move them, that matters more than proximity to Columbus.
