Fentress Architects

Fentress Architects is a Denver-based design firm founded in 1980 and known internationally for airports, convention centers, and large public buildings. Working as Fentress Studios within Populous, the practice leads design on Nashville International Airport’s New Horizon expansion, building on its earlier work at the airport. Fentress made its name on aviation, having designed and expanded terminals at major airports across the U.S. and abroad, and on civic buildings where a structure has to carry a city’s identity. The firm emphasizes what it calls context-driven design, shaping big public buildings around the place and the people who move through them rather than a house style.
