Helix Electric

Helix Electric is a San Diego electrical contractor founded in 1985 that’s grown into one of the biggest in the country. The company lists more than 2,900 employees and roughly $950 million in annual revenue on its site, and today’s coverage cites figures above both. It works design-build and complex electrical scopes in data centers, healthcare and biotech, transportation, education, government, renewables and multifamily, from a dozen offices stretching from Honolulu to Manassas, Va. Prefabrication is a growing part of the model. On Oct. 27, 2026, Helix broke ground on a $45.3 million advanced fabrication campus in Hollywood, Ala., the first phase of a planned 1.2-million-square-foot site that’ll build duct banks, hangers and modular electrical skids.

Eleven locations take enquiries: San Diego, Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento, Las Vegas, Reno, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, Dallas, Hawaii and a Mid-Atlantic office. The Reno base sits at 1900 South McCarran Boulevard. A 24/7 emergency service line runs alongside the project and bid routes, which is not something every contractor of this size offers.

Work is sorted three ways on the project side, as design build, construction, or engineering, and the company presents itself as a full service electrical contractor across all three. Market coverage runs through commercial and retail, correctional and judicial, distribution, education, government and military, healthcare and biotech, hospitality and entertainment, industrial and water treatment, mission critical, multi-unit residential, renewable energy and transportation.

The named projects make that range concrete. AES Lawai Solar in Lawai, Hawaii, on the renewable side. The Cobalt Cheyenne Data Center in Las Vegas, on the mission critical side. The California Health Care Facility in Stockton, a correctional healthcare campus. The Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center. 520 West Ash, known as Luma, and the San Diego International Airport Federal Inspection Service facility in San Diego. 1640 Broadway in Oakland. Pendry Park City in Utah, Ascaya Clubhouse in Henderson, Nevada, and the Turkish American Community Center in Lanham, Maryland.

The company calls itself a merit-based business and puts recruitment at the centre of its site, with client testimonials that dwell on workmanship and on the quality of field and office personnel rather than on price.

There is also a community side: Team Helix runs food drives across its regions, with contributions of both goods and staff time.

The San Diego number is 858.535.0505, and the contact form routes by office and by reason, including bid opportunities and employee verification.
