Vantage Data Centers

Vantage Data Centers develops and runs wholesale data center campuses for hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprises. It launched in 2010 with backing from Silver Lake, starting with a former Intel data center in Santa Clara, Calif., and is now headquartered in Denver. DigitalBridge is its main owner, and the company lists more than 40 locations across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Its V41 campus in Fredericksburg, Va., valued at $2 billion, was one of the three largest nonresidential projects to start in September 2026, according to Dodge Construction Network. PitchBook puts its headcount at about 2,500.

Four service names sit on Vantage’s menu, and they describe four different amounts of work a tenant is willing to do themselves. Rack Ready is the most finished. Whitespace is a shell-and-services lease. Build-to-Suit is a purpose-built facility. A fourth catch-all covers the rest.

The geographic list is longer than the service list. North America covers the United States and Canada. EMEA runs through Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland, South Africa, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Asia-Pacific covers Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia and Taiwan. Roughly 40 campuses carry those regions, from Ashburn and Santa Clara to Quincy, Phoenix, Montreal, Frankfurt, London, Johannesburg, Cyberjaya and Taipei.

Capacity is the number that matters to a hyperscale tenant, and Vantage puts the range at 64MW to more than 1GW per campus. The company frames that span as growing in place, which is a real distinction in a market where a tenant outgrowing a site faces a migration rather than an expansion. It also claims white space delivered in six months or less, and says more than 99% of customers stay each year.

Specifying engineers will find the feature pages organized around power, cooling, security and compliance, connectivity, room design, amenities, sustainability, safety and operational excellence. The commissioning detail worth noting is Level 5 commissioning cited for the Quincy, Washington facility.

On the power side, an October 2026 agreement with Heron Power Electronics covers gigawatt-scale 800 VDC distribution, which signals where the company expects rack density to go rather than what is installed today.

Sustainability claims here need reading carefully. Vantage says sustainability is built in from the start, has signed the Climate Pledge, published an inaugural ESG report, and secured an 87MWp solar power purchase agreement for its Johannesburg JNB1 campus. What it does not publish on its company pages is a third-party certification such as ISO, LEED, BREEAM or an Uptime Institute tier, nor a numeric carbon target. Anyone with a procurement checklist should ask for those directly.

Ownership shapes the development pipeline: DigitalBridge Group is the main owner, with Silver Lake, AustralianSuper and PSP Investments also invested. That capital base is the reason a 64MW campus and a gigawatt campus can sit in the same portfolio.
