A warning on this company’s own rebate page is more useful than most of its sales copy: installing equipment before your rebate is approved can put the incentive at risk. Under Ontario’s Home Renovation Savings Program, that is real money. Homes heated by electric, oil, propane or wood can qualify for up to $7,500 on a cold-climate air-source heat pump, calculated at $1,250 per ton, or up to $12,000 for ground-source at $2,000 per ton. Gas-heated homes receive $500 per ton, capped at $2,000 air-source or $3,000 ground-source, with the same tiers available on rental applications.
Direct Home Comfort handles that paperwork end to end at no cost and no obligation — eligibility review, matching equipment to what qualifies, submitting the application, and guiding the file through an approval it says often takes about 48 hours.
The business was built by a husband-and-wife team with more than 25 years of combined HVAC industry experience, splitting leadership between the sales and customer side and operations. They are explicit about why they started it: confusing pricing, slow service, poor communication and rushed installations are named as the industry problems the company was set up against.
Phone lines run Monday to Sunday, 9am to 9pm, with 24-hour emergency service outside those hours. The satisfaction guarantee is unusually concrete — removal of the product and a refund of the purchase price if a customer is not completely satisfied within 30 days.
Scope runs wider than heating and cooling. Furnaces, boilers, air conditioners and heat pumps sit alongside water heaters and tankless upgrades, a full water treatment line covering softeners, reverse osmosis and alkaline filtration, duct cleaning and whole-home air quality work, and commercial HVAC. A water assessment is offered before any treatment recommendation.
Equipment can be bought outright, rented or financed on a monthly plan. Protection plans extend past HVAC into plumbing and electrical, and a Total Home Protection Plan bundles priority service, annual maintenance and parts-and-labour coverage; those plans are often transferable to the buyer when a home sells, subject to terms.
Separate business lines serve builders and new construction, including HRV and ERV ventilation, property managers who need priority service and emergency repair, and commercial clients, plus an authorized dealer program.
On timing: furnace and air conditioner replacements are usually finished in a single day. A water heater swap takes a few hours, depending on venting, plumbing and whether it is being upgraded to tankless. Free in-home assessments are available on eligible installations, and current promotions include a free iPad with a water heater upgrade and a $250 referral reward.
